Thomas Quilty

Thomas Quilty

President
Thomas (Tom) Quilty is retired US Army Officer (MAJ) and retired Law Enforcement Professional along with being an executive officer for two companies and advising several tech startups. Tom has participated in the disaster responses to the 1989 Earthquake, 1991 Oakland Fire and several other localized disasters. Tom’s experiences with Non-Profits includes being the Treasurer and President of an International Non-Profit, the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA). Tom also served as Aide and Political Advisor for Police and Military issues to Ambassador Jacques Paul Klein in Bosnia (Deployed as part of Operation Joint Guard,1997-1998). Tom was involved with setting up several Law Enforcement Task Forces and is a member of the Computer Crime and Digital Evidence Committee for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Tom is married, Grace, and has two grown children and one grandchild. His hobbies are hiking, travel and helping advise new startups or non-profits.
Michael Quilty

Michael Quilty

Treasurer and Coordinator of “Walk Across America”
Michael (Mike) Quilty is a sometimes-retired USMC & Vietnam Veteran (CPL 1969-1971). Mike is a career construction professional who has worked as a laborer, carpenter, job superintendent and Vice President of a major Southeast builder. He has built everything from homes, hospitals, dams, and schools. Most recently, he has helped in repair activities for several Nuclear Power Plants while they were shut down. Mike’s experience as a pension board member for the carpenter’s union help ensure funds are spent appropriately. Our “Walk Across America” event is Mike’s idea to give back and recognize veterans and first responders. Mike is married, Sharon, with 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. His hobbies are fishing, golf and now of course, walking as the coordinator of our “Walk Across America” event.

James Keith

Secretary
James (Jimmy) Keith is a retired Sheriff’s Captain from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office (32 years of service). During Jimmy’s career, he has had the opportunity to participate in three major disaster assistance events and many minor local events. Some of these events such as the 1985 Lexington Fire, 1989 Earthquake, and the 1991 Oakland Fire saw Jimmy helping coordinate the Sheriff’s Office response. His other experiences, include executive protection, patrol, supervision along with investigations of organized crime, gangs, and drugs have given him a broad perspective. Jimmy also acts as our Operations Coordinator. Jimmy is married, Paula, with four grown children and two grandchildren. His hobbies are golf, his Cape House, target shooting and hanging out with his children.
James Keith

NORMAN JENNINGS

Director
Norman (Gunny) Jennings, is a retired USMC Gunnery Sergeant (1957-1975) and Vietnam Veteran with service as a combat diver and MACV SOG. Gunny’s amazing career both in the military and afterwards shows his willingness to be on the front lines. Gunny has been a bounty hunter, businessman, Contractor in Iraq, and also served as the Marshal (Chief Law Enforcement Officer) for the Marshal Islands. Gunny has an in-depth understanding of the issues involved with supporting operations in adverse conditions. Gunny will also be one of the core staff walking across the US. Gunny is married, Gwen (deceased) with one grown daughter. Gunny’s hobbies are target shooting and helping veterans navigate the paperwork necessary to get their benefits.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
No one on this page will be taking a salary from the non-profit. This may change if we add an Executive Director, but even then, only that person or an actual employee supporting the operation will be paid a salary. The goal is that 90-95% of any funds received go to support the mission.
